Hope, abandoned by Adrienne Schultz with Muttley Crue rescue!!!
On July 26, 2011, I put out a plea for a starved and injured pitied mix that I ended up naming Hope. I was not in the position to take her in personally and made that loud and clear but wanted to give her a fighting chance just in case someone else could help her.
After receiving an offer to take Hope, in my PM on July 29, 2011 from Muttleycrue Schultz a rescue that came with high recommendations I accepted and agree to bring Hope to my rescue after her first vet appointment on July 29, 2011 in which she was heart worn tested, x rayed and gotten UTD on all her shots, until references could be checked and transport could be arranged. References checked out 100% on August 2, 2011.
Donations were being raised to help with her vetting. Hope was then spayed August 17, 2011 while waiting to arrange transport (volunteer) leaving only the leg left to be vetted in which Muttley Crue rescue (Ohio) was fully aware of. All moneys left over from donations, after vetting would be transferred to Adrienne Schultz with Muttley Crue rescue. After complication with transport, from not being able to get volunteers, to me having to cancel a weekend transport so I could attend my father’s funeral, we (GPBR) started discussing paid transport.
On Tuesday, August 30, 2011, My VP Jason spoke with Adrienne Schultz about starting a chipin so we can pay for Hope’s transport and she agreed. Since then we raised $225 and I borrowed the remaining $75 dollars until we can raise the rest of the money. On September 3, 2011 I transferred the money to pay for Hope’s transport and transport was scheduled for this Wednesday, September 7th, 2011. I left Adrienne Schultz with Muttley Crue rescue a PM on FB for we could not get a hold to her by phone informing her of this and asked her to contact us so we can confirm where hope needed to be taken. The only address we have is hers and we wanted to make sure Hope was going to her and not a foster for we would need that address if so.
This was her reply:

• hi there! Ok, so lots of bad news….
first off I haven’t heard from any of my tranport people, not sur eif they are that busy now or holiday weekend stuff. Also, i had a pregopit dropped to me so i am not in a position to take anything else until i can move her. I am SOOOOO sorry, ! am usually reliable but this has been so crazy. Can you use the donations for tranposrt for amputation? I am still gonna try and help you.
Here is my response to her reply:

o Are you kidding me??? I just raised all this money to pay for her transport and now you’re not going to take her??? She cannot have any surgery here for I have no room in house for her to recover and I cannot risk her getting infections. As a rescue you must have a code of ethic and take care of the dogs you have already commit too. You should have also said something before I started the chipin for transport. I have already transferred the money and paid for transport. Again please call Jason to confirm you will no longer be taking her. Thank you, Lita (GPBR) again the number is 706-437-4064.
She has now Blocked me.

So here is my dilemma: the only reason I brought Hope to my rescue was to have her transported to Adrienne Schultz with Muttley Crue rescue. It was made loud and clear when I posted a plea for Hope asking for help that I could not personally take her. Second and very important, you DO NOT use money that was asked for one thing and use it on another. That is fraud. I have no idea what to do at this point. AGAIN, I cannot keep hope. I have seen this time and time again, rescue’s stepping up to help another rescue only for that rescue to abandon the dog at the end of the day. That is why rescues have bad names and why rescues do not want to help other rescues for the do not know who to trust because they have been left stuck before. As far as Adrienne Schultz with Muttley Crue rescue is concern I will handle her in civil court for I truly believe these rescue need to start taking accountability for their actions. However, in the mean time I must find another rescue to take Hope immediately.
Again, I must ask, is there any rescue that can take Hope??? I am sorry and I say this with sorrow and regret but I cannot keep Hope. Even if I had the money to vet her leg she has nowhere to recover without getting infection for I have no room in house and she CANNOT recover in a 10x10x6 kennel in the sand.
PLEASE NOTE: I am a Georgia state license rescue and cannot transfer Hope to anyone other than another State license rescue unless your state does not require a rescue to be state licensed. Reference checks are also required even for state license rescues.
