When is a service dog, a service dog? Who decides what “service” & “disability” really are and/or who really has them?

This is the second story of the same nature I have heard about this week, so I felt compelled to share it with you. Also I would like to give a special “Bark out” to Edward Owens for allowing me to share this with you all.

Eight-year-old Sean Forsyth suffers from autism. The Pine Richland School District (In Gibsonia, PA) has used stalling tactics and other unprofessional behavior with the Forsyth family to discourage them from asking that Sean’s service dog, Sophia, be allowed to attend school with him. The petition will be sent to the superintendent and other officials in the hopes public opinion forces them to follow the law and allow Sophia to attend school with Sean under the Americans With Disabilities Act. Sophia is Sean’s best friend and biggest helper. Having her in school with him will help give him the best educational experience possible. Below is a petition to allow Sophia to go with Sean to school, please feel free to sign and share with friends.

Let Sophia go to school with Sean

It is really time we start looking past our own “Issues” and focus on helping people. The simple fact is that children, all children deserve the right to a proper education, and personally I feel if Sophia can help Sean obtain that, then I fully support her and her skin-kid! Sean’s Mother Jennifer started this petition and Edward graciously allowed me to “borrow” his copy if you will.

It has been said that the safety of the other children is a concern, and honestly that is so silly to me, I mean let’s think about it for a minute, service dogs are everywhere in the Western world, Canada and the USA use them for a variety of tasks and at no time when I see a service dog in public to I think, “Oh my lord, gather your children, the beast is a bout to strike!” If we did, there would be no service dogs, and the only service dog in History, to attack a person was a Vancouver service dog that was protecting his owner from a mugging, so for me it’s a “no counter”

I think that what is important here is that Sophia gives Sean what he needs to be able to function at school, and frankly even if at the bare minimum, all she gives him is self-confidence/esteem it would be a resonating YES for me.

To everyone who has taken the time to hear Sean and Sophia’s story, and help out! You are action takers, and the world needs that right now, so thank you very much!

Here is the other story I was referring to:

Washington, PA boy denied service dog

makes me wonder if PA needs to accompany the tin man to see the wizard and obtain their heart as well!

A call to arms! Pit Slammers can be bloggers too, but this verges on abuse and harrassment!

Before you check out this idiots blogs, please keep in mind a few key points; This little hater network has launched an attack on the pit bull/bully community.

They are NOT animal behaviourists in any way shape or form, they are not qualified to speak to the nature of the breed at all, in fact what we have here is nothing more than a hater that has made a following. Whether it’s Colleen Lynn behind this or it’s just some other piece of trash trying to make a name for themselves by attacking these dogs, I do not know.., YET!

What they do is Flagg all advertisements relating to the dogs. Such as: Buying, selling and trade. Now I am certainly not a fan of the “Craigslist Dog Ads” to re-home and or trade the dogs, more often than not it’s a dog fighter posing with a fake family that comes to collect your beloved family member. So always remember that taking on a pet means a commitment of the next 13-15 years, so be ready for that, and if you have any doubts, do not get a pet. BUT, it doesn’t give these people the right to step in and play cyber bully or pit-cop! Here are the links:

Pit Flaggers

and here’s the mother blog:

Staffordshires Online

What they are, is a group of well-organized haters, they preach the same old “Nutter” rants, they say we routinely blame the victims (Not So) the blame sits squarely on the shoulders of the owners of these dogs as individuals, and everyone that breathes from their noses know that! I have never heard a responsible pit bull owner blame the victim, they make take aim at the lack of common sense with some, such allowing a small child to be in a room alone with a dog, any dog, but certainly not blaming the child, or anyone else who has been the victim of an attack, I have been attacked myself, which I have spoken about before, but I did not let that attack lead me down the road of wanting ALL Malamutes dead, and I do no preach hate against the breed, his owner was at fault, end of story!

In any case you can do what your heart tells you to do, mine told me to report them and speak out! where does yours lead you?

here’s the link to report them to blogger:

report abuse to “Blogger”

Please remember when viewing the videos on the Staffordshire site that ANY dog can be a loaded gun, any dog can attack, and many breeds are capable of extreme bite force and damage (FYI When Brady Barr measured the bite force of various animals for a National Geographic program, a hyena again was measured at 1000 psi/pounds of force. A lion’s bite force measured 691, a shark 669, and a Rottweiler 328, a German shepherd came in at 238, and a pit bull’s bite was measured at 235 psi/pounds of force). We are the guardians, and much like we shape a child, we shape them as well. See brady Barr’s video’s at National Geographic’s website, both video’s are available under Dangerous Encouters Bite Force and Bite Force 2. Below is a Youtube video clip of that programe series:

Dangerous Encounters “Bite Force”

For all the videos (grainy or clear) that these “Pit Slammers” come up with, you can go to Youtube and see videos, of happy, successfully trained and raised pit bulls, staffies and bully’s that have become wonderful family pets, therapy dogs, assistance dogs, the list goes on. I have NEVER seen a recorded pit bull/bully breed attack from a well adjusted and well trained “family” dog

The point here is they perpetuate lies, and mis-information, they harbour and create a false sense of danger, and they instill fear and hatred unnecessarily for these dogs.

Many Michael Vick dogs have since gone on to be certified Canine Good Citizens and Therapy dogs, which shows you that even abused pit bull can be shown that life doesn’t have to mean aggression = survival.

please consider reporting these two blogs, because they are not blogs, they disguise themselves as such, but we all know this is just another forum to preach hate and spread more fear mongering. If it was a blog about defaming people, or a specific ethnic group, they would be immediately removed and we all know that.

Also I forgot to add this comes from the “Mother Blog” See below:

“NOT ADVISED” If you have a neighboring pit problem, I would never suggest you use antifreeze nor use this recipe: “Buy or obtain a whole fish, gutted. Line the abdominal cavity with raisins. Then chop up a large bar of baking chocolate and …mix with diced unions. Fill the space with it. Next, to make it sweet and bind it all together, intermix some kiwi or other show polish. They like it more than sugar itself it seems. Then seal the whole thing up with peanut butter and give to pit. This good to pits only, no other types of dogs.” Do not feed the neighbors dogs, it may make them sick. This blogger does not advocate it. The recipe found on net and posted above it to inform people what not to use to feed dogs. can we see the sense of urgency now

Thank you and sorry I have been away with a terrible cold.
