Vancouver Washington considering pit bull ban, I guess Ignorance really does spread like Nuclear Fallout.

This last image is the face of BSL and the only thing it accomplishes, which is dealth. My friend Kym has meticulously put together a list of the city council member with contact info, this is our time to speak up for our “best friends” our “pets” our “fur-kids!” We are asking anyone who is not bias, ignorant, or uneducated about the breed, or if you are just someone who knows and loves Pit bulls, If you see them for what they “REALLY” are please take the time to let your voices be heard!

We all have to remember and understand very clearly that BSL is abuse, its an abuse of authority, its hate speech, its breed profiling, its deciding the fate and the worth of a dog just because of how they look, not who they areMost importantly it results in ambassa-dogs being stolen from their families and put to death!

No BSL seeks to create case by case reviews, and it only addresses  Pit bulls, and bully type dogs, but DOES NOT exclude any breeds who have the appearance of a pit bull, and yes that means if you own a boxer, a mastiff, a Dogue de bordeaux, a bull dog, or anything close in appearance you are in big trouble if this passes!

Ask not for BSL, but stronger companion animal acts, stronger punishments for abusers and irresponsible owners, but DO NOT SUPPORT BSL!

Please remember, as I have said many times, these are dogs, not monsters! They are not predisposed to attack, they do not have a locking jaw mechanism and they do not “Just snap”

Just like and other dog, they are all capable of greatness, or colossal failure. They are like children, in the sense that if you give them everything they need to become a productive member of society, they will be the shinning star of your community!  Again, just like any other dog if you do not, they will be a detriment! please see the attached note that Kym created,  and share, speak out, email or even call but take 5 minutes out of your day to stop unfair legislation that seeks to create a holocaust for dogs!

About apitome

I am a mother, a pit bull advocate, but mostly I am just like any of you, I am passionate about politics, the environment and dog advocacy. I want possitive changes within the judicial system as well. I want my children to grow up in a country where we are not told what breed of dog we can own. I want to see BSL put in the trash where it belongs! I want to see the constitution protected but not manipulated *see anything on the mosque near ground zero (USA) or changing Merry Christmas to Happy Holidays (Canada)* I am not racist in any way shape or form against any ethnic group, I do however have prejudices against bad behavior! If you abuse our laws, kids, the elderly, or animals, If you move to a new country and then demand that country to change everything about it's laws & way of life to suit your own agenda, If you blatantly break those laws with no regard and show no repect for them, if you engage in dog fighting or any other forms of animal abuse, torture or neglect, or if you are a pedophile, Than yes! You are on my radar for sure, and I will do EVERYTHING within my power to see you stopped and brought to justice! Furthering that goal, I have no qualms about publishing the names and faces of convicted abusers. I am not trying to change the world, I simply want to see things improve not backslide, Mostly for my children and these wonderful dogs futures! I may say things you agree with, and I may say things that you won't agree with, I may anger you, challenge you, or just plain piss you off, but in my book that's ok as long as long as it inspires some form of action on your part. This is not a popularity contest, If I have said anything about a group or person that you don't agree with please feel free to leave a comment or simply don't come back. If You have been mentioned in my blog it is for one of two reasons, you are either an advocate or you are an abuser loser, if you are the latter I could care less what you think! I value the opinions of trash about as much as I do that of a slug! Everything in print here is a matter of public record, or came from a trusted source, with that said, I am certainly willing to print both sides of any story, in an effort to be fair and always print the truth! I walk by various breeds of dogs everyday on Evergreen Hwy. with my full sized golden doodle. Today we encountered a Pittbull who ran off from his owner and attacked my dog. Three bites late and a woman who fled the scene, I am all in favor of the ban. Never have had a moments trouble with any other breed we have come across in the popular dog walking neighborhood.

So let me get this straight, an irresponsible owner (probably someone who has invested very little or nothing into their dog) lets their dog get away and it bites, well I am with you “annonymous” your dog should have never been subjected to that, if in fact it really was. However stating that you have never had a moments trouble with any other dog, Im calling BS on that.
I have lived in my town for over thirty years, in that time I have been attacked by a golden retriver, I had my rotweiller almost attacked by a german shepherd, ( I yelled st the dog “NO” and then to “SIT” which he immediately did thus avoiding a full on attack to my dog. I had a shepherd mix try to attack my pit bull, a kick to the ribs ended that one. I have witnessed two fights between mixed breeds and was witness to a labrador unprovoked vicously attacking a pit bull, so I’m sorry unless you live in a cave I find that very hard to believe!
Now if you are going to translate this owners short comings and abuse (neglecting training and socialization is abuse BTW, and so is taking a dog into a public place with proper restraint, meaning properly fitted leash and collar, no matter the breed) onto the dog than I really am not interested at all in what you have to say, Why would you not be focusing on responsibility acts with your council instead? Making your community safer by working toward responsibility for ALL owners? unless you were bias to them before this incident that is? I guess my biggest probem as of late with this mindset is why you people find it such an easy jump to blame a dog rather than the people. This is the second media fed, hyped up mindset I have had to elighten this week (NOT my job BTW) There’s just alot of holes in this tiny blanket statement of yours for me. In my town it is very pittie friendly, 99% of the owners here take great pains to train, vet, care for, and create safe invironments for the public and in my thirty years here there was only ONE recorded pit bull attack and the attacks was on live stock, and breed could not be DNA tested to verify beyond doubt which means it could have been many breeds comonly misidentifed as pit bull. In any case NO ONE has ever been attacked and injured by a pit bull here, not even other dogs ever! So I am NOT for any bans, but then again I have actually researched, trained with, owned, and cared for pit bulls and or larger breeds all my life, so I think I am in a much better place to speak, and from experience. You are in a place speaking from ONE encounter wherein you did nothing to stop the advancing dog, or did you omit that part? Get educated, spend time with properly trained and handled pit bulls and then come talk to me. Until then, you are just another voice proving through your own words that it has no merrit. But Thank you and Your comment will be approved and posted.
